On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the imposition of Emergency, a seminar was organized at Burla NAC College, Burla on the theme “Remembering the Emergency, Strengthening the Democracy.”
Mrs. Mina Patel, Reader in Zoology, presided over the seminar. The key speakers included Dr. Aparajita Panda, Mr. Pradeep Mishra, Dr. Jyotiranjan Samal, and Dr. Priyadarshini Sahoo, who shared valuable insights and perspectives on the importance of democratic values and civil liberties.
various competitions such as Debate, Essay Writing, and Quiz were conducted as part of the observance. Additionally, students actively participated in an Awareness March, carrying placards and raising slogans to highlight the need to preserve and protect democracy.
