Department of Political Science

Department of Political Science

The Department is one of the oldest departments. Initially it offered both Hons and Pass courses in the subject as per the prevailing pattern under Sambalpur University. The department had only 16 Hons seats and there was no celling for students opting out the subject as a Pass. Since 2016 the department is offering only Hons with a sanctioned strength of 24 seats under the CBCS system. The department has a seminar library with 200 reference and textbooks for circulation among the students. The department regularly organizes seminars and lectures to nurture the special faculties among the students and help realize them their fullest potential. Further the department strives to create a congenial environment for the intellectual spiritual growth of the students. The department has a rich legacy of its alumni with many of them today established in different walks of life both within and abroad of India.
